The Korean drama industry is about to release another blockbuster: Twelve, a fantasy-action series inspired by the 12 zodiac animals. Ma Dong-seok stars as the heroic leader Tae-san, and Park Hyung-sik as the intriguing adversary O-gwi. The drama promises fierce confrontations between angels and demonic spirits.

Inspired by the 12 zodiac animals of the East, “Twelve” tells the story of 12 angels living in the human world in human form to protect the Korean Peninsula from evil spirits. Long ago, the angels barely managed to seal the forces of evil in the gates of hell through their sacrifice, bringing peace. However, with the evil spirits awakening, chaos returns.
The casts we will see, Ma Dong-seok (Don Lee) plays Tae-san, the tiger-symbol angel and leader of the Twelve. Powerful and decisive. Park Hyung-sik portrays O-gwi, the Crow symbol; an evil entity unleashed to harm humanity. Seo In-guk as Won-seung: The Monkey-symbol angel; clever and resourceful, with ambitions to be a leader. Sung Dong-il portrays Ma-rok, a human selected by celestial forces to guide the angels. Lee Joo-bin as Mir (Dragon), Ko Kyu-pil as Don-yi (Pig), Kang Mi-na as Kang-ji (Dog), Sung Yoo-bin as Jwi-dol (Rat), Ahn Ji-hye as Mal-suk (Horse), and Regina Lei as Bang-wool (Snake).

Ma Dong-seok (also known as Don Lee) is a South Korean-American actor renowned for his tough-yet-warm cinematic demeanor. He gained to prominence with his breakout role in the zombie thriller “Train to Busan” (2016), and other significant works include “The Outlaws”, “Along with the Gods”, “Unstoppable”, and Marvel’s “Eternals” (2021), in which he plays Gilgamesh.

Park Hyung-sik is a South Korean actor, singer, and part of the boy band ZE:A. He became well-known for his attractive appearance, kind attitude, and various acting abilities. He is well known for his parts in successful dramas such as “Hwarang”, “Strong Woman Do Bong-soon”, “Suits”, “Happiness”, and “Our Blooming Youth”. His most recent hit K-drama, “Buried Hearts,” helped him gain tremendous recognition. Aside from acting, he has demonstrated his abilities in singing and musicals. Fans love him for his natural acting style, romantic appeal, and ability to play both lighter and serious characters with ease. We have seen Sung Dong Il and Park Hyung sik acting together in the same K-drama before as well. That K-drama was Hwarang.

Seo In-guk is a South Korean singer and actor who rose to prominence after winning the reality talent program Superstar K in 2009. Later, he moved into acting and rose to prominence for his diverse performances in romantic and thriller dramas. Some of his best-known works include Reply 1997, Master’s Sun, Shopping King Louie, Doom at Your Service, and Cafe Minamdang. He is acclaimed for his emotional depth, appealing film presence, and powerful singing abilities, making him a popular figure in both music and acting.

With only eight episodes, Twelve promises a fast-paced tale, amazing action sequences, and mythical depth. The drama will launch on KBS2 on August 23, 2025, and will also be available globally via Disney+ and JioHotstar.
