Kim Woo-bin and Suzy reunite in Devilishly Fun Genie, Make a Wish. A new K-fantasy rom-com series reunites the popular couple for a wonderful adventure—with a naughty twist.

Genie make a wish

The enigmatic spirit Genie emerges from a thousand-year hibernation to give three life-changing wishes to Ga Yeong, an emotionless young lady who discovers she now owns a magical lamp. As Genie attempts to adapt to the contemporary society with his mischievous ways, he and the emotionally guarded Ga Yeong are dragged into an unexpected and thrilling affair.

Cold, stoic Ka-young (Suzy) has spent her childhood in the care of her grandmother, whose vigilant eye and tough-love approach have helped keep Ka-young’s psychopathic inclinations under control. When Ka-young unintentionally discovers a mystical lamp, she awakens the enigmatic spirit Genie (Kim Woo-bin) from his thousand-year slumber — and, yes, he grants the young woman three life-changing wishes. Unleashed into a new decade, Genie’s mischievous magic upends Ka-young’s tranquil life, and as he navigates the strange realities of the contemporary world, the two discover a startling whirlwind romance. But just when things couldn’t get any more predictable, Ka-young discovers that her wish-granting companion is actually Iblis, also known as Satan, who is out to prove that people are corruptible. It’s a fresh take on the genie-in-a-lamp myth, and when Ka-young’s intractability and strictly regulated routines collide with Genie’s mischievous energy and naïve appeal, the stage is set for an out-of-the-ordinary relationship.

Kim Soo Bin and Bae Suzy

We have seen them acting together in a K-drama before as well. It is a painful yet beautiful Korean drama that follows Shin Joon-young (Kim Woo Bin), a top actor-singer, and No Eul (Bae Suzy), a documentary director. In that K-drama, their bond was shown to be very lovable and romantic. In that K-drama, their ending was very sad. The play explores themes such as fated love, sacrifice, and the fragility of time. That K-drama had a huge fanbase and became very famous, and it still is even now.

Uncontrollably Fond

Casts:- Kim Woo-bin (Officer Black Belt, Black Knight) plays Genie, Suzy (Doona!, Start-up) plays Ka-young, Ahn Eun-jin (Hospital Playlist, Goodbye Earth) plays the mysterious Mi-joo, Noh Sang-hyun (Love in the Big City, Pachinko) plays Soo-hyun, Genie’s brother and rival, and Ko Kyu-pil (The Roundup: No Way Out) plays Sayyid, Genie’s assistant who is secretly a black jaguar. Lee Zoo-young (The 8 Show, Shades of the Heart) plays Min-ji, Ka-young’s sole buddy.

Prepare to meet fate when Genie, Make a Wish debuts on October 3, just in time for Korea’s Chuseok festival.
